Illness Related Call Offs/Absences:
If your child is sent home or called off with illness, they must be out for a full school day prior to their return.
Symptoms that must follow this guideline are severe sore throat, persistent cough, fever, vomiting, and diarrhea.
Example: Your Student is sent home on Monday with a fever and vomiting. They must be out all day Tuesday. They must be symptom and fever free all day Tuesday in order to return on Wednesday.
COVID PROTOCOL:
If your child tests positive for COVID, please report this to the school immediately. A student that tests positive, must be out for 5 days. They can return on day 6 as long as they are symptom and fever free for 24 hours (without the use of fever reducers). Days 6-10, they must wear a mask at all times, (unless actively participating in a sport or physical activity), and they must eat in an isolated area. The School Nurse will let your child know where to eat.
STREP THROAT PROTOCOL:
If your child tests positive for Strep throat, they must be out of school until they have completed a full 24 hours of antibiotics. Once they have completed the full dose of antibiotics, they may return as long as they are symptom and fever free (without the use of fever reducers).
FLU PROTOCOL:
If your child tests positive for Influenza A or B, they must be out school until they are symptom and fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducers.
For any other illness, please contact the school nurse to receive your child's return to school information.
