Is Your Child READY for Kindergarten?
The School Town of Highland Elementary Counselors will be sharing information related to the academic and social-emotional readiness of in-coming kindergarten students on Monday, February 22, 2016 
7pm in the Johnston Elementary library ​at 8220-5th Street.
​This presentation is geared towards parents and guardians of preschool children; especially those hoping to participate in the School Town of Highland’s Kindergarten Round-Up the week of March 14, 2016.

Congratulations to the HHS Orchestra Students who received gold medals at the ISSMA Solo & Ensemble contest: Nancy Garay, Karli Byrd, Kory Wyant, Rebecca Fenes, Yesmin Zitioui, Ethan Lewis, Caroline Orzel, Meaghan Hillier, Mia Veronesi, Natalie Childress, and Angela Golub.  Additionally, an outstanding number of group I competitors earned gold and qualified to go to state competition: the 15 members of the Camerata Orchestra, soloists Christina Fiegle, Felipe Caldeira, Hayley Kim, Kathleen Doolittle, Meet Patel, Xander Melby, Annabelle Makowski, Katie Krick, Wyatt Kucginski, Dustin DuFault, Ishaan Patel, and Annaliese Ford.

Congratulations to the HMS Orchestra Students who received gold medals at the ISSMA Solo & Ensemble contest: Emma Kondrat, Jessica Guerra, Grace Girman, Aly Wilson, Andrea DuFault, Camille Fessenden, Connor Hennessy, Joseph Klapkowsi, Kyla Baker, Maegan Shaw, Tess, Vanator, Daniel Wilson, Corbin Anderson, Julian Camacho, Ricky Sanchez, Sarah Szromba, Sarah Peters, Satyavsh Arya, Amanda Cruse, Kate O’Brien, Devin Villarreal, Karolyn Pineiro, Parker Smith, Samantha Stemp, Molly Rebey, Eddie Jania, and Danielle Rubalcaba.  Congratulations to the SEVEN ensembles that played and received gold.

Congratulations to the Band Students who received gold medals at the ISSMA Solo & Ensemble contest: DJ Mendoza, Julia Makowski, Sierra Laviolette, Jacob Labadie, Isabel Knipe, Kenna Crowel, Samantha Colbert, Stephanie Sprague, Ghenella Salanio, Katelyn Long, Maya Davis and Leah Clark. Congratulations to State qualifiers: L. Clark, M. Davis, K. Long, G. Salanio & S. Sprague.

 Congratulations to the HHS Piano and Vocal Students at the Solo and Ensemble Contest.  Of the 47 events registered for Highland High School, our students received 36 Gold Medals & 11 Silver Medals. Travelling to State Contest in the Piano Solo Division is Maya Davis who also received a perfect score. Travelling to State Contest in the Women's solo division: Amanda Statsny, Breanna King, Brittany Cruz, Brittany Siver, Catherine Larson, Courtney Douglas, Emily Smith, Jacey Bertalan, Jade Wright, Kennedy Vernengo, Krissy Cannon, Kyrstyn Glover, Madelyn Smigla, Megan Herron, Morgan Greathouse, Morgan Vaclavik, & Paige Fanning. Travelling to State Contest in the Men's solo division are Alex Traina, Chris P0eters, Conner Gierymski, David Allison, Nate Taillon, Orlando Orozco, Sam Pizzuto, & Spencer Almeda.  Also attending state in the Women's Barbershop division are the Bohlin Ensemble & the Douglas Ensemble & in the Mixed Choir Division the Smith Ensemble & the Cannon Ensemble & finally in the Madrigal Division, 20 members of Highland's Madrigal Choir aka the Munoz Ensemble.

Congratulations to the HMS Piano and Vocal Students who attended District ISSMA Solo and Ensemble! Out of 34 events with over90 students, HMS brought home 29 Gold medals and 5 Silver medals!  The following soloists in group I received a gold and willbe headed to State ISSMA contest: Kayleigh Ferguson and Erin Perry (two outstanding performances), Rebecca Rzeszut (the only piano soloist to attend received a Gold rating), Silver Medals to soloists Savannah Vela,Ericah Dongu, Lorali Cowger, and the Kester and Zehner Ensembles received a Silver.  The following Soloists received a Gold medal: Isabelle Hibbard,Olivia Smith, Hannah Rebey, Kaitlyn Tiemens, Hayden Greathouse, Elise Gluth,Emelia Lopez, Kayla Massa, Leah Bishop, Margaret McQuillian, Natalie Bartlett,Rachel Stange, and Sophia Procida. The following ensembles received a Gold medal: Durkin, Crespo,Figueroa, Smith, Ferguson, Procida, Lopez, Bastaic, Brewer, Carrubba,Granieri, Hendricks, Hays, and Solis.
